Und da isses wieder, das jährliche, deprimierende, graue Winterloch. Der Wetterbericht prognostiziert eine weitere Woche grauen Nieselregen . Immerhin ging das Schnee und Eis Chaos der letzten beiden Jahre diesmal an uns vorbei.

Und so lange es draussen nichts interessantes gibt, fliegen die Kühe halt drinnen. Bitte sehr, Kühe mit Flügeln:

And there it is again, the yearly, depressing grey mind hole of winter. The weather forecast predicts another week of grey drizzly rain . At least the snow and ice chaos of the previous two winters passed us by this time.

And as long as there is nothing interesting to see outside, the cows will fly indoors. Proof, pictures of cows with wings. Kisses to you!

Manchmal sind Werbegags ja richtig süss. Dieses Silvester gibt es Wunschraketen – jawohl, Wünsche auf die Rakete schreiben und ab nach oben damit, wo sie hingehören auf dass sie erfüllt werden .

Sometimes marketing is really cute. This New  Year`s Eve you can buy fireworks which are provided with an empty box.  Write your wishes there and send them up to where they belong so that they can be fulfilled

Ist das nun die Folge der Erderwärmung oder ist mein Rhododendron einfach nur neben der (Zeit)Spur?

Blühender Rhododendron – normalerweise tut er das im Mai!

Zumindest ein echter Lichtblick beim Warten auf die Wintersonnwende – noch 10 Tage bis sie wieder länger werden.

Is that the climate change or is my rhododendron just confused about the time of year?  Today I photographed a rhododendron in bloom in the garden – usually the flowers appear in May!

At least it is a real eye catcher during the wait for the Winter Solstice – still 10 days to go until the days get longer again.

Wie ich neulich schrieb – das usselige Novemberwetter ist nicht weit weg und hat uns jetzt erreicht Ich bin echt nicht für die nördlichen Gefilde geschaffen. Ich brauch Licht und laue Temperaturen zum Wohlfühlen. Wenigstens sind Schnee und Frost noch nicht eingetroffen. Können gerne noch wegbleiben.

Inzwischen ein bisschen blaues Licht, wenn schon das Tageslicht nur trüb und grau ist. Echt erstaunlich, wie hell LEDs sind und das bei dem niedrigen Stromverbrauch.

Und das alljährliche Tage runterzählen – noch 25 Tage bis zur Wintersonnwende und bis die Tage wieder länger werden.

As I wrote a few days ago – the drab November weather did reach us now. Really, I am  no northern latitude person. I need light and balmy temperatures to feel good. At least snow and frost have not arrived yet. And as far as I am concerned, they can stay away for good.

Some blue light to support daylight which is drab and grey now. Really astonishing how bright these LEDs are. And how little electricity they need.

And the yearly countdown – 25 days to go until Winter Solstice comes around and the days start to lengthen again.

Auch wenn heute die Sonne scheint, das usselige Novemberwetter wird uns noch früh genug heimsuchen. Um ein wenig gegenzuhalten und die Augen und das Gemüt zu erfreuen statt sich von trüben Novembertagen und langen Nächten herunterziehen zu lassen, hab ich mir ein rot-goldenes Leuchten in Meritence  vom Regenbogenschaf geordert. Tadaaa: Meritence Lace, handgefärbt, Farbe Liebelei auf Merino und Tencelfaser, die aus Holz gemacht wird. Wolle muss für mich ja bekanntermassen nicht super-soft sein – aber die hier ist wirklich kuschelweich, schad auch  nix

Das Schaf hat den Umschlag sogar persönlich vorbeigebracht und ist auch gleich geblieben:

Today the sun is shining but the drab November weather is sure to get here soon. To counter the depressing effects this usually has on me, I ordered some Meritence from the Regenbogenschaf (The Rainbow Sheep). Meritence Lace in “Flirtatiousness” to be exact in a red-golden glow to shine in bleak November days and long nights. Meritence is a mix of Merino Wool and Tencel, which is made from wood pulp. And even if wool does not have to be super-soft to be to my liking, this yarn is oh-so-cuddly-soft which is not detrimental  at all 

The sheep delivered the yarn personally and staid as you can see from the second picture.
