Manche Dinge sind so einfach, dass man einfach nicht drauf kommt.

Auf meinen Urlaubsreisen in Grossbritannien war ich immer verzaubert vom Elderflower Cordial – ein Softdrink auf Holunderblütenbasis, gibts da als Konzentrat in jedem Supermarkt. Irgendwie kam ich nie auf die Idee, im Internet danach zu suche. Bis neulich…

Voila: Bottle Green Elderflower Cordial, frisch importiert per Postpaket aus Grossbritannien.

Die Flasche enthält einen halben Liter Konzentrat für 5,5 l Elderflower Cordial (mindestens). Einfach nur gesprudeltes Wasser dazugiessen, umrühren und geniessen .

Und das beste: Ich hab 6 Flaschen davon Musste sein, damit sich die Portokosten amortisieren.

Oh, und ausserdem ist das “Green” im Namen Programm – die Produktion wurde nach Umweltgesichtspunkten optimiert, Details in englisch hier.

Ich weiss zwar, dass es einen ähnlichen Sirup auf Holunderblütenbasis in einem gewissen schwedischen Möbelhaus gibt. Aber – kein Vergleich mit dem britischen Rezept.

During my holidays in the British Isles long years ago, I always was enchanted by the elderflower cordial. But even if I missed it sorely in the last years, I never thought about looking for it on the internt. Up to last week, that is…

So, from a fairly new company: Bottle Green Elderflower Cordial, just arrived by mail today.

This bottle with 0,5 l syrup makes 5,5 l Elderflower Cordial (at least). Just add sparkling water, stir and enjoy .

And the best of it: I got 6 bottles  Had to order several bottles so the cost of postage and packing would be distributed.

Oh, and the “Green” in the companys name  is not just an idle word: Production was optimized considering ecological aspects, details here.

And I know quite well that there is a similar syrup based on elderflowers on sale in a certain furniture store that is based in Sweden -  but that´s just no match for the british recipe.
